Dustin Russell, DVM

Dr. Russell originally hails from the bluegrass state, but has found his calling in Northwest Florida. He earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Kentucky and then graduated from Mississippi State College of Veterinary Medicine. His professional interests are surgery, dentistry, general small animal medicine and exotic pet care. Dr. Russell is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association. Some of his hobbies and interests include carpentry, kayaking, aquaria, camping, traveling, and beach activities.

Charlie Matyi, DVM


Dr. Matyi is a graduate from Mississippi State University College of Veterinary Medicine. His professional interests are surgery and emergency medicine. Charlie is an avid beach goer, kayaker and he loves to travel the globe.

Brooke Smith – Veterinary Nurse

Brooke was born and raised in Pensacola, where she grew up taking all of her pets to Navy Boulevard Animal Hospital. She joined the team in October of 2017 as a Pet Resort Attendant and is now pursuing her dream as a Veterinary Nurse. Raising half a dozen birds, tarantulas, turtles, dogs and cats, it was always clear to Brooke that she would only find true fulfillment in a career caring for animals. In her spare time she enjoys writing music, video games, camping and kayaking. She is currently attending Penn Foster online for a degree in Veterinary Technology and plans on exploring work with wildlife in the future. 

Molly Byram – Certified Veterinary Technician

Molly is a graduate of Pensacola State College’s veterinary technician program. She passed her VTNE test to get certified in July of 2017. She has 4 brothers and 4 sisters and has lived here in Pensacola all of her life. She married into a house of 2 adorable dogs, Rocco and Roscoe, in October of 2018. Along with her 2 dogs, she rescued a FIV positive cat  named “Tom Petty”.  In her spare time, she enjoys throwing board game nights with her friends, trivia nights downtown, and watching movies with her purrrfect pets and husband.

Julie Jacobs – Veterinary Nurse

Julie moved here from Panama City due to Hurricane Michael. She has 2 children, Talan and Brielle, as well as her feline friend, Chief. Julie has been a part of the veterinary field since 2008 where she first worked as a kennel assistant and moved her way up to the awesome technician that she is today. Her hobbies include: Horseback riding, wake surfing, and shopping.

Bailey Shubert – Client Care Coordinator, Veterinary Nurse

Hi, I’m Bailey. I started my adventures with animals in 2015 but have been actively trying to make their world a better place way before then. I went to vet tech school in California and moved to Pensacola when my husband became stationed here. I continue to look forward to helping animals.

Kinsey Paulchek – Client Care Coordinator, Veterinary Assistant

Kinsey joined the team in July of 2018 to follow her passion of working with animals. She is a student at Pensacola State College working towards a degree in biomedical science and hopes to continue her education in animal medicine. If she is not at Navy Boulevard Animal Hospital, she is at home with her dog Gizmoe.

Amanda McDonald – Client Care Coordinator, Veterinary Assistant 

Amanda’s compassion for animals began when she was just a young girl from babysitting guinea pigs, birds, cats, dogs, you name it. She began professionally working with animals at the age of 16 as a groomer’s assistant and kennel technician. Four years later, she is still working with animals at Navy Boulevard Animal Hospital and loving every minute.


Loryn Smith – Client Care Coordinator

Loryn Smith is a Pensacola native and an animal advocate. She has a husband Shawn, an adorable daughter Camilla, is expecting a second daughter and has three dogs! She has a fun loving home and brings her happiness to the clinic.

Jessica Roser – Pet Resort Attendant, Veterinary Assistant

Jessica began her passion working with animals at the Pensacola Humane Society back in October of 2016. She joined the team at Navy Boulevard Animal Hospital in April 2018 as a Pet Resort Attendant and is now training as a vet assistant. Jessica is currently taking a break from school but hopes to return to school to pursue her passion to work with exotic animals.

Hunter Young – Pet Resort Attendant, Veterinary Assistant

Hunter started volunteering with dogs a few months prior to starting at Navy Boulevard Animal Hospital and she has worked as a kennel technician in the past. She owned dogs throughout her childhood. She earned her Bachelor’s of Science in biology at University of West Florida. “Time spent with animals is never wasted.”

Lexi Line – Certified Pet Groomer, Pet Resort Director

Lexi is an Army brat who has traveled far and wide but dogs have always been her number one love. Her love for animals began at a young age helping train working/hunting dogs. She started in April 2018 with Navy Boulevard as a Pet Resort Attendant but is now a certified groomer. She is very motivated about grooming and plans to start her own mobile grooming business in the future. Lexi’s hobbies include the beach, animals, rollerblading, hula hooping, hiking, and taking her dogs to the park!
